Our Company

Coastland Arbor Services is the longest established tree company [with its original proprietor], on QLD’s Sunshine Coast. We provide a comprehensive, professional tree service which includes arboricultural consultancy, tree maintenance, difficult/dangerous and confined space tree removals, stump grinding, allotment clearing and other related services. Our wide range of past and present clients include: local and state government bodies [local councils, National Parks & Wildlife etc.], corporations and body corporates, professionals [landscape architects, engineers etc,] and the general public.

Established in 1987, the owners, Jeff and Linda Jakeman, along with their trained and experienced staff are committed to providing arboricultural services of the highest possible standard and the most up-to-date professional advice - to ensure the ongoing care, maintenance and survival of our urban treescape.

Jeff Jakeman is an experienced tree specialist and ISA certified arborist with qualifications in arboriculture and horticulture. The Jakeman/Foote family has lived and worked on the Sunshine Coast for five generations and Jeff has gained an invaluable practical knowledge of native local tree species, soil types, weather and storm patterns and tree behaviour over the years [i.e. history of tree failure incidents, susceptability to disease etc].

Coastland Arbor Services has a strong commitment to its clients, its workforce and itself to maintain and improve upon the efficiency, safety and standards of our day-to-day operations. Our pruning and removal work is performed in accordance with the Australian Standards [AS 4373] for Amenity Trees and the Safety Criteria and Work Methods of the American National Standard ANSI Z133, 1-1994 for Tree Care Operations - both of which are set as a minimum standard for our company.

At Coastland Arbor Services, we understand that knowing when and how to hire an arborist and/or tree company is an important [and sometimes difficult] decision for property owners. So how do you choose? Wisely, is our answer. Educate yourself and make an informed decision. Take some time to read our article "Choosing a Tree Company Wisely" for more tips on what to look for and what to avoid.
